Meet NovaK-9 (a little pun on Novocain), our therapy dog-in-training at Deadra Clewell Counseling, LLC. Affectionately known as Nova, she is a gentle and joyful presence who brings warmth, comfort, and calm to in-office sessions with Dr. Clewell.

 

As a young dog, Nova is naturally curious and playful, but she is learning how to settle and provide quiet companionship during sessions when invited to do so. Many clients find that her presence helps ease anxiety, create a sense of grounding, and make the therapeutic space feel more welcoming and human.

 

Nova’s role is always client-centered and optional. She may quietly rest nearby, offer a comforting presence, or simply share the room as you work through your session. For those who enjoy connecting with animals, Nova’s calm energy can be a meaningful part of the healing environment.
