Dr. Deadra Clewell, PhD, LPC, NCC, CCTP is the founder of Deadra Clewell Counseling, LLC and a seasoned mental health provider with more than 25 years of experience in the field of psychology. She works with adults and adolescents ages 14 and older who are seeking focused, effective therapy grounded in both clinical expertise and real-world understanding.
Dr. Clewell holds a PhD in Psychology and has extensive experience across inpatient, outpatient, and family-based settings. Her therapeutic style is direct, grounded, and results-oriented. She integrates Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) strategies and is trained in EMDR, helping clients move beyond insight toward meaningful, sustainable change.
To ensure focused, high-quality care, Dr. Clewell’s practice is solely dedicated to individual therapy for adults and adolescents ages 14 and older.
As the owner and clinical director of the practice, Dr. Clewell directly supervises all clinicians on her team. She maintains active clinical oversight through regular review of treatment plans and progress notes, offering consultation and guidance to ensure thoughtful, coordinated care. This structure allows clients to benefit from a collaborative clinical team while knowing that Dr. Clewell remains closely involved in the quality and direction of their care.
A U.S. Army veteran, Dr. Clewell brings a unique perspective to her work with civilians, military members, and military families. She is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, New Hampshire, and Florida, and her professional profile is verified on Psychology Today.
Dr. Clewell is currently expanding her clinical training in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy, with the intention of offering this modality in early 2026 as regulations and best-practice standards allow.
Clients may also notice the presence of Nova, Dr. Clewell’s therapy dog-in-training, during some in-office sessions. Nova’s role is always optional and client-centered, and her presence is intended to create a calm, welcoming environment for those who find comfort in animal-assisted support. More information about Nova’s role in the practice can be found on her profile page.
